SoulHound was born out of a love for adventures with our hounds. The more time we spent together the more we realised that we are missing out on fundamental cues and learnings they offer us on a daily basis. That there is so much more to discover about our precious companions. We wanted to turn our passion for helping humans understand their hounds better, into a calling.

My journey began when I realised how little I knew about my own dog, Jessie. I never questioned why she suddenly chooses to change direction whilst walking, why she ‘yawns’ when trucks drive by, or what she might be sensing as she sniffs eagerly at things I cannot even see. I speculated and simply did not take the time to really get to know her.
The more I learnt about canine body and scent communication, the more I realised that I needed to stop talking so much to Jessie, and start using body language, facial expressions, and spatial pressure to communicate with her. With this, I am better able to translate her emotions, thoughts & intentions, and our relationship has deepend with a clearer comprehension between us. She is my SoulHound. I am her HoundHero. Now, I help others identify and understand every unique trait of their hound.
I create engaging workshops that streamline human-hound communication, blending research, creativity, and storytelling into accessible, enjoyable sessions. With a background in education, filmmaking, photography and canine expertise, I’m passionate about decoding the misunderstood language of hounds.
My walks and hikes are based on safety, reliability and pure adventure! We are roamers at heart and willing to cover any distance to meet you and your hounds’ needs.

Jackie has been looking after our dogs – and our kids – for many years, when we go away and we can’t take them with us. We couldn’t recommend anyone more highly, our dogs – and our kids – absolutely love her. And so do we. She is part our family now and we wouldn’t leave our dogs – or our kids – with anyone else. We trust Jackie implicitly, she is professional, caring and very kind. Jackie is absolutely mad about dogs – and doesn’t mind kids – and she is passionate about their well-being (the dogs in particular). We know that our dogs – and our kids – will not only be lovingly cared for (spoilt!) but they will also be exercised regularly – the dogs, not the kids – because Jax loves nothing better than getting out with the dogs for long walks. Lucky doggies – and kids – who get to stay with Jax, it is a homestay holiday for them!

SoulHound Rover
Jackie recently spent 4 days looking after my elderly dog Rover. Jackie took the time to come and meet us both first with Jessie, which really helped to put my mind at ease as I have never used a house sitter before. Felt completely confident that Rover was well very well looked after and my home was spotless when I returned, would never have known anyone had even been there. Smooth handover at beginning and end, totally removed any stress from leaving Rover behind to go away. Would highly recommend Jackie and Jessie if you’re looking for someone reliable and very experienced.
SoulHounds Darcey, Ruby & Margo
Jackie is a fabulous dog sitter. She really got to know our three dogs and their individual idiosyncrasies, before we went away on holiday and looked after them, and our house, in an exemplary manner. The dogs were obviously happy and relaxed when we got back. Jackie sent us some lovely videos while we were away which was reassuring and lovely at the same time. The house was clean and tidy when we returned and Jackie had established a good rapport with our neighbours which was good for everyone. We couldn’t recommend Jackie highly enough.

Jackie was fabulous! From start to finish it was a really calm, reassuring and pleasant experience. Jackie came with a good vibe – my dogs took to her straight away. She is keen to learn the daily lives of your dog so there is a little change as possible when you’re away, which I really appreciated. Whilst I was away, I received great updates with pictures which really helped me relax to the fact that Kiwi and Jack where having a great time with Jackie. My dogs seemed really relaxed and happy when I came home, what more could you ask for! I would highly recommend Jackie and I will be booking her again very soon! Thank you so much Jackie. I started this job because I wanted another hound, but it wasn’t possible with my setup. Instead, I found the perfect solution—caring for other hounds! It’s a win-win. Living near beautiful beaches and forests, I couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy the outdoors than with a few extra furry friends.
At home, I have a secure, fenced garden, and my two friendly pups, Finley and Taca, are always up for walks and sleepovers. With no small children around, it’s a relaxed and fun environment for everyone.
We also offer dog-sitting in Cornwall, so whether it’s just us or with Finley and Taca too, your hound will get all the love, care, and adventure they need!

We are so lucky to have found such an excellent doggy day care and boarding. The dogs are treated like one of the family and enjoy playing with the owners two dogs. The owners are very observant, and notice the little traits of your dogs and work with or around them.
Can’t praise them enough.
SoulHounds Blue & Peggy
I was slightly apprehensive leaving both my fur babies for the first time but Jess and Dave are the perfect people for the job. We have two dogs both with very different personalities, one of our dogs is only 6months old and is still learning and can be a handful at times. Jess and Dave were not phased and managed to keep both dogs happy and entertained with ease. Both dogs are still recovering from all their adventures. Unfortunately, we are not local to the area, we used SoulHound for a bit of freedom whilst on holiday. We may just be moving 250 miles as we believe we have found the perfect dog sitters 😁 Thank you so much for looking after Blue and Peggy. Next time we are in the area we will definitely be booking them in again.

Doris stayed just over a week with Jess and Dave and their two lovely dogs. She looks amazing! Doris has obviously been so well cared for and loved whilst in your care with expert guidance given in her diet! We can’t recommend your services highly enough and will be back to book again! Jess and Dave are brilliant. We’d never left our Cockapoo Ivy before, but Jess was so reassuring, kind and accommodating. Ivy had lots of walks, activities and love and they sent updates as to how she was. Their own two dogs are gorgeous and friendly, and their home was welcoming and safe. They are warm and gentle people, who evidently adore dogs, and we would highly recommend them. We will definitely be using them again ♥️

Our dog Ruby loved staying with Jess, she had a wonderful time and long walks in the countryside and on the beaches. We could see from the numerous photos and videos sent to us on a daily basis that Ruby had a great time. Jess and Dave are real dog people and gave us such peace of mind whilst we were on holiday and we can highly recommend them.
